History

Tracing our roots Engineering and Architecture based fraternity in Cebu Institute of Technology. Since its Founding in December 13, 1952, it has produced a line of board topnotchers in their respective fields and student leaders, seeking mutual pleasures and associations from and with another aiming a lifelong friendship and brotherhood and KAPPA EPSILON ALPHA, the name of our fraternity and sorority. Exclusively for Engineering and Architectures students will be admitted and also one of the oldest fraternities of the campus at that time at since the Institution foundation in 1946. Early 60’s membership has gone down and debates for expansion chapters outside CIT campus discussing also for admittance for membership for non-engineering and non-architectures student to be admitted. Coincidentally the Visayas Meeting Knights of Columbus of some of the founder members of KAPPA EPSILON ALPHA was also a members of the were Ramon Nazareno also a member attended that meeting it was open up of one the member of KAPPA EPSILON ALPHA that their Fraternity planning for recruit and expand to other Universities and Colleges. Ramon Nazareno interested to join and helping expanding the fraternity to grow. On the 70’s new Constitution, By-Laws and Rituals has been made name KAPPA EPSILON ALPHA was changed to TAU RHO LAMBDA Fraternity and Sorority.

TAU RHO LAMBDA chartered on November 26, 1976 in the Philippines soil in Cebu City. It was a sweltering afternoon of November when the first meeting, rituals and oath taking apart. We are gentlemen and ladies that seek of friendship and brotherhood those bounds there mind in one vision. They called themselves NOBLES its purpose is recognizing the values of Unity, Trust to the Almighty God, Respect our fellow brothers and sisters, Loyalty to the Fraternity, Service to the community and mold for future leaders. Promoting common good and nobility and to enhance their respect for individuality and sense of moral responsibility, who enjoy their camaraderie in a deserved and refurbishing society of equals. During this time the Fraternity had a rising demand and needed sacrificial determination.

In 1980′s to 90′s “TAU RHO LAMBDA” was made strong to establish a name which was the University of San Carlos became the Alpha Chapter. Omega Beta Delta and Beta Sigma Beta merger have been made on May 15, 1993. Grand Knight Anthony Jude Barcelo headed the Omega Beta Delta and Grand Knight Michael Ray Lunzaga headed the Beta Sigma Beta signing for the official membership of TAU RHO LAMBDA. 54 men are presented as follows: Arvin Alcover, Anthony Jude Barcelo, Eric Laborte, Michael Ray Lunzaga, Renato Odulio Jr., Noel Dayot, Khan Vergara, Paul John Olmedo, Shem Jumawan, Joel Naya, Vincent Matriano, Joseph Anthony Racaza, Anecito Pondoc, Arvin Bilar, Wenner Freje Oredina, Michael Ron, Arth Pangan, Harold Te, Vincent Indig, Julius Hindang, Jessie Rabuya, Christian Ruiz Comalig, Jonathan Quijada, Ramel Adlaon, Meliton Sarmiento, Noel Burgos, Christopher Ortiga, Niño Azarcon, Ferdinand Pascua, Lyndon Naya, Adriel Saniel, Dale Veloso, Pocholo Lucero, Francis Castillon, Jerry Yongco, Niño Jesus Zapanta, Michael Velasquez, Godfrey Ayson, Melvin Polistico, Melvin Burgos, Periolo Dignos, Randy Dini-ay, Vincente Villarino, Joseph Emit, Charlie Sabado, Elvin Labora, Rogelio Mencidor, Arnel Santos Yñigo, Bob Fuentes, Duane Go, Orbil Ogbinal, Christopher Suerte, Vincente “Tikong” Villarino and Randolph Piner. Ladies of the Sorority of TAU RHO LAMBDA were 12 women, namely: Emily Verano, Faith Ramones, Merzi Lumontad, Marjorie Tabuada, Rowena Roxas, Pinky Ang, Ma. Evangeline Labuga Besana, Christine Go, Marissa Obejero, Lyndie Agustine, Mera Luna Borres, and Ann Macasero. Each of these young men and women was outstanding in their fields. The organization emphasized the genuineness, the essence of family and tradition and founded an independent elite organization.

In the year 1998 Grand Knight Rizalito Omar Roska from the University of Cebu decided to establish a chapter in his University with a petition to the Alumni and the Supreme Council in which it was granted. And also with the help of Grand Knight Edwin Bobbie Golez the University of Cebu Chapter expanded with more new members and was very active in the University and with the Community as well. Some of the members from different Universities and Colleges is very loyal and is keeping the honor of TAU RHO LAMBDA Fraternity and Sorority as it lives on.
